Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) - CC(DC)
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a mainline Protestant denomination in the United States and Canada with roots in the Stone-Campbell Movement of the early 19th century. The denomination emphasizes Christian unity, freedom of conscience, congregational life, and the central place of the Lord’s Table in worship. Disciples congregations are known for weekly communion, ecumenical commitments, and a desire to bear witness to God’s love through service, justice, and community life.
The denomination describes itself as “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world,” seeking to welcome all to the table as God has welcomed us. Its ministries include congregational support, theological education, global mission, anti-racism and pro-reconciliation work, and partnerships across the wider church. The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is connected with colleges, universities, seminaries, and divinity houses that help form leaders for ministry and public service.
