The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama
The Episcopal Diocese of Alabama is the regional body of The Episcopal Church serving much of Alabama, with offices in Birmingham. Rooted in God’s unconditional love, the diocese invites people into a faith tradition shaped by worship, welcome, justice, and community life. It supports 87 faith communities and six college ministries across the state, while also investing in congregational vitality, leadership development, racial healing, and vocational discernment.
As part of the wider Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion, the diocese helps congregations and ministry leaders respond faithfully to changing neighborhoods, emerging needs, and new opportunities for Christian witness. Its work connects local churches through shared resources, events, formation, and common mission, encouraging Episcopalians in Alabama to follow Jesus by loving their neighbors and standing with those on the margins.
